THE PHYSIQUE DELUSION
Two of the most common statements coaches hear from clients are:
1. ‘I don’t want to get too big’
2. ‘I want to be lean but not too lean’
Here it is:
If you want to get bigger my intent as a coach will always be to get you as big as possible in the shortest sustainable time as possible. You still won’t get ‘too big’ that I promise you! You’re not going to wake up one morning unable to get in your clothes and looking excessively swole.
If you want to get leaner I will try to lower body fat as fast and sustainably as I possibly can. You still won’t get ‘too lean’.
No one in the history of man has even accidentally got ‘too big’ or ‘too lean’ for what THEY want. This s*** isn’t easy and doesn’t just happen overnight.
When you see someone who is bigger or leaner than YOU want to be they didn’t just accidentally get there.
Just like they had to keep their diet on point and they had to train your ass off, the same, that’s what you’re going to have to do.
Stop worrying about s*** that doesn’t need worrying about. It becomes a barrier and mentally disrupts progress.
