Many of you, just like in many things in life need to see the consequences of those actions before you get to the required stage of change. Sometimes, however, those consequences are irreparable.
Everyone’s been an ‘askhole’ at some point in their life.
Asked for advice with no intention of acting on it.
Asked for advice and only acted on it if it aligned with the answer they wanted.
Don’t be an askhole…. but DO consider the source and quality of information before you start changing things.
Ps. If you think you know everything and ‘know best’ chances are you’ve probably received plenty of great info. Your ego just won’t allow you to process it or do anything with it.
When I consult with businesses that stagnation is very apparent very early. Everything is met with conflict or rationale as to why change is impossible or wrong.
(I once asked someone if I could record them. When I played it back to them, they didn’t even realise they were doing it. It was a form of self-sabotage as in that particular case it was a lack of confidence and self-esteem)
When I see people 4 weeks after attending a business seminar with no evidence of action I see the same thing. Typically I can tell through their line of questioning or opposition to change within the seminar itself who will be like that.
You are your own worst enemy in many respect.
