New Year New me……
–
There is NO new you. That’s the harsh reality am sorry!!
–
There is only an old you that you can look to markedly improve upon. Going at a hundred miles an hour just like you are right now (yes that’s you) and thinking that in 6 months when it really matters and the second half of the year kicks in and the reality of ‘I’ll do it in 2018’ kicks in and next year will be different maybe you’ll be reflective on what could have been or maybe you won’t.
–
Now everyone needs a pep talk now and again and if you havn’t heard kid presidents version I would encourage it. The reality is that some motivational meme popping up on your newsfeed and you telling the social media world how hardcore you are ain’t making a shite of difference. Only YOU can do that.
–
You don’t have an issue with food. You have an issue in your head and what you perceive food as. Right now where you are needs tweaking and improving. You’re not buffing a car before it goes onto the forecourt for sale. You’re at the start of the factory line improving what needs improved and building it until that day (if it ever comes) that you are putting the finishing touches to your masterpiece. YOU!
–
You are kidding yourself. NO shit you are and THAT is the harsh reality. YOU can’t sustain what you’re doing now. If you can props to you but you can talk crap all you want and tell me you will but in a month I, yes me. I will more than likely be right and you will still be fooling yourself. The fact is what you’re doing right now isn’t attainable. You’re going to the gym too much and you’re imposing to many changes an restrictions on your diet. Be consistent. Eat well, often in fact just more often than you did. Set a target of protein, water and the rest of the macros and just follow it. In six months when that has been achieved then start to eat some clean food and change your behaviours towards food and acknowledge that however the food is labeled you choose to eat, clean, dirty, diligently with no mental persecution, no bias or agenda and you enjoy what you do thorough the rewards in wellbeing and physique you reap. Stop trying to lose body fat, try to stop gaining it. Stop trying to build muscle tissue, lift and eat enough protein that you don’t lose it.
–
STOP using up all the tools. Fat burners are useless beyond what right now a cup of coffee will do for you (at this point most will just say ‘but’ and give themselves some lame excuse as to why they will use them). Doing hours of CV right now is useless. Walk up stairs instead of taking lifts. The body responds to adjustments, just like straightening your tie, it doesn’t respond to you wrapping it around your head like rambo and running round like an idiot, it smartens you up and keeps your shit in order.
–
Now some of you are probably saying ‘well that wasn’t very motivational’.
–
What? Because I didn’t tell you what you wanted to hear. I told, for what will be the majority of you some home truths and told you it how it is. NOW make small changes and make the OLD YOU better. Realise that when 2019 dawns you are still doing things that you’re doing this week and will inevitably be doing the rest of your days.
